"...skilled and exceptionally talented young chamber group" - NY Times
The Borealis Quintet was formed in 1976 and continues to earn appreciative applause from audiences as well as exceptional press reviews wherever they tour. The New York Times commented on the musicians’ “lively, communicative” performances; the Washington Post noted their “superb and skillful playing,” and the Philadelphia Inquirer cited “the sort of rapport that characterizes the very best chamber playing.”

The group has attracted attention throughout the United States with their fluid blend of classical woodwind favorites and operatic and symphonic music as well as modern works. Founded in 1976, the Borealis Wind Quintet is regarded as one of the top chamber ensembles today, having won numerous prizes
and awards. Early in its career, the ensemble gained national recognition when they were named "Young Artists to Watch" by High Fidelity/Musical America.

Each season, the Borealis tours the United States and it has appeared at such prestigious concert halls as Wolf Trap in Virginia, Carnegie Hall's Weill Concert Hall, the Frick Museum and numerous colleges and universities.
